Relative's Support Group

At Cúil Dídin we feel that outside of protecting and caring for our residents we also value the continuous input of families, relatives and friends as the care here is provided in a co operative and partnership manner. We respect that the transition in life is very difficult when someone close to you moves to reside in Cúil Dídin and we are endeavouring to set a standard that can help to reduce the emotional trauma involved.

Role as defined by group committee:

  • To support relatives of residents.
  • Listen to their concerns re their relative coming into a nursing home and all that feelings around it. Share with them our experiences and let them know it is all normal.
  • We suggested we have a regular time that we as a committee would be in Cúil Dídin so that they could come and talk if they wanted.
  • We suggested having a Coffee Morning a few times a year and invite all relatives to this.
  • Cúil Dídin newsletter and information pack containing this information.
